Finally getting a much-awaited and well-deserved pay raise is thrilling for any employee, particularly so if it was given without having to ask for it. Even if you did ask for it and you received it, you should feel proud about the fact that your boss couldn't deny that you are indeed an important employee of the organization, and that you should be treated well and rewarded accordingly. Either way, when you do get a raise it is a good idea to thank your boss for it, by sending a simple thank you letter or a note to her/him. Not only is it a good etiquette, it also shows your boss that you truly appreciate the fact that you have been rewarded for your work. Gratitude for anything always multiplies it; so if you say a simple thank you now, you will definitely be considered for the next raise, whenever it is scheduled. Here, we provide you with a sample of a thank you letter for a pay raise that you have recently received.

Tips to Write a Good Thank You Letter

A thank you letter is never very long. It is short and simple. So, you could either leave a note on your boss' desk or you could send her/him an e-mail expressing your appreciation for the raise. If you got the raise without asking for it, mention that you are happy that the organization is focusing on you, your work, and your growth. On the other hand, if you got the raise after asking for it, mention the same to say that you appreciate that they heeded your request and agree that you deserve the raise. As mentioned earlier, appreciation always does the trick and makes your boss happy too.
